As much as we try to prevent the appearance of dark circles and bags under our eyes, it seems that they will always make an appearance. When you notice dark circles under your eyes though, it is not the end of the world — in fact, it is your body’s way of letting you know that your body needs some tender love and care. Dark circles under your eyes can be caused by a wide array of underlying issues from a lack of sleep to thin skin and hormonal issues. The remedies to these dark circles vary depending on the cause, but luckily, the skincare experts at Moraz are here to help you achieve beautiful and healthy skin.
Identify the Issue
Before you can run out looking for a cure for dark circles under your eyes, you first need to understand what it is that is causing you to have bags under your eyes. Dark circles under your eyes can be caused by allergies, thin skin that is overly exposed to the sun or simply by a lack of sleep and stress. When you notice that you have bags under your eyes, take a moment to check in with yourself.
- Did I get enough sleep?
- Have I come into contact with anything that I may be allergic to?
- Does my skin look inflamed?
- Am I stressed out?
- Have I spent too much time out in the sun without sunscreen?
- How do I feel overall? It may be caused by a hormone imbalance as well.
Once you have identified what is causing the dark circles under your eyes, you can proceed to try and find a solution. The most common issues will be a lack of sleep and prolonged exposure to the sun when you generally have thin skin under your eyes. Luckily those are the easiest issues to remedy.
Lack of Sleep
While this may be incredibly obvious and seem silly enough to even say, you need to get more rest! We know, between school, work, family, friends, and all of your hobbies, it seems like there are not enough hours in the day to max out your sleep. It’s recommended that adults get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep every day.
Thin Skin/Sun Exposure
Additionally, if you are getting plenty of sleep and the issue is not with that, you may need a topical solution to help bring life back into your skin. We recommend one of our nutrient-rich eye creams, like the Polygonum and Shea Butter Eye and Neck Cream. It is enriched with jojoba, avocado oils, and of course polygonum and shea butter to nourish the delicate skin around your eyes. It’s easily absorbed into the skin and will make those dark circles under your eyes blur in no time at all.
